Melanie B is taking Eddie Murphy to court. She's forcing his to take a paternity test to determine if he's the father of Murphy Brown. Eddie denied he was the father during a European TV interview.


She told People

"He's not doing a DNA test and he's not signing the birth certificate. So it's going to have to go to court so he can be forced to do it, which is strange since he was the one asking for it."

Eddie's people would not comment.

Melanie Brown insists ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy is the father of the baby she's carrying and says she can't imagine why he would publicly question the child's paternity.


Brown says in the statement released Thursday

"I am obviously upset and distressed at some of the comments made by Eddie Murphy to the media. I have no idea why anybody would want to conduct themselves in this kind of manner about such a personal matter in such a public way.

My main concern is for the well being of my (seven-year-old) daughter Phoenix and of course the baby. I was astonished at what Eddie said – there is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father."

Mel was on a plane from England to Los Angeles on Monday when an interview with Murphy aired on the Dutch TV show RTL Boulevard. In the interview, Murphy was asked about Brown and her pregnancy and said

"We're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."

Brown only learned that her relationship with Murphy had ended when she landed in Los Angeles and received voicemails from friends telling her about the TV interview, a source close to her tells PEOPLE.


That same night, at the New York City premiere of his movie Dreamgirls, Murphy stepped out with his new girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds. Edmonds told PEOPLE they'd been dating for "about a month and a half."


Wow dosen't he sound like a catch girls, can't be bothered to let his pregnant girlfriend know that they are over before he starts taking out his new girlfriend!

Eddie Murphy and Mel B are taking their children to Disneyland to get to know each other.


The 'Nutty Professor' star and the former Spice Girl have been an item for around two months and reportedly plan to marry and are determined their kids get along too.


A close friend of the couple is quoted in Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying

"Marriage has been mentioned. Uniting their families will take the relationship to another level."

Eddie has five children, while Mel B has a seven-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar.


The couple had planned the trip for this week, but postponed it due to the recent terror scare. Mel and Eddie were first introduced by friends in Los Angeles in June and have been inseparable ever since.


It is believed the two have even had each other's names tattooed on their bodies.

Eddie Murphy is supposedly dating former Spice Girl Mel B.


The actor has been seeing the former singer for three weeks. Friends of the couple said:

"They've been lying low and trying to keep it quiet, but they are definitely an item."

Mel is reported to be so infatuated with Eddie that she has had his name tattooed on her hip. A source said:

"Mel has told friends he is the one. Within a few days she had his name tattooed on her hip. He has a matching one with her name.
Mel is very impulsive. She's been saying how great he is and how she's never met anyone like him."
