Wesley Snipes was being pursued last night by the Internal Revenue Service.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for the Bronx-raised star after Snipes and two Florida men were indicted in Ocala for trying to defraud the government out of $12 million.

Snipes could face 16 years in prison if convicted on all counts. But the feds have to catch him first.

The 44-year-old action star had a home in the swanky Orlando suburb of Windermere, not far from Tiger Woods' place. But the feds don't know where Snipes is.

U.S. Attorney Paul Perez said in Tampa.

"We've spoken to his former attorneys over the weekend. We presume that he knows, and of course, after this press conference he will definitely know."

Snipes' manager, David Schiff, did not return calls for comment.

Snipes was indicted on eight counts of tax fraud and charged with failing to file returns from 1999 through 2004. He allegedly conspired with Eddie Ray Kahn and Douglas Rosile to file false refund claims based on a bogus argument that only income from foreign sources was subject to taxation.

The multimillion-dollar refunds Snipes claimed were never paid by the government.
