Paris Hilton was arrested in Hollywood Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence, Los Angeles police said.


Officer I. Isabella tells the Associated Press Hilton, was pulled over just before 12:30 a.m. because she was "driving erratically."

"The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication," Isabella said, reading a police statement. "A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and the officers determined she was driving under the influence."

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and then released, he said. According to Hilton's rep, Elliot Mintz, she was picked up from the police station by sister Nicky Hilton and Nicky's boyfriend, Entourage star Kevin Connolly.


Mintz told the AP Hilton had spent the day shooting a music video and had been on her way home from a charity event when she was pulled over in her Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.


He said she'd had one margarita at the event and that her symptoms were

"probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued."

Mintz also said police had detected only the minimum level of blood alcohol that could be cause for an arrest (California's legal limit is 0.08 percent).


"She's absolutely fine," Mintz said. "She didn't appear in the least bit to be intoxicated."


It's not been a good couple of days for Paris first she get denied access to a party and now this!
