You know that Nicole Richie is seriously underweight when she makes Kiera Knightly look almost healthy.


With her ribs showing through her skin, Nicole had to hold up her American size 0 bikini which bagged around her wisp thin frame as she sunbathed on a beach in Malibu.


Earlier in the day, it was reported that a photographer called out telling her to "gain some weight." Nicole replied "I have a disease" before bursting into floods of tears.


The adopted daughter of singer Lionel Ritchie recently confessed to a magazine:

"I know I'm too thin right now, so I wouldn't want any young girl looking at me and saying, 'That's what I want to look like.

"I really do need to do something about it. I'm not happy with the way I look right now."

But despite seeing a nutritionist and a doctor regularly, it is clear Nicole is still struggling.


She is not the only one, Keira Knightley was spotted in central London on Friday exposing an emaciated ribcage.


The 32A beauty admitted:

"I haven't got boobs, I've got pecs."
