So M:I3 didn't do as well at the box office as M:I2 - actually it was about $10 million below - getting an estimated $48.025.


Some people are saying that Tom Cruise's personality may have something to do with it - well he has been a bit OTT this year with all the declarations of love and couch jumping (I still say Mid-life Crisis).


But Cruise's studio downplays the suggestion that the star's private life weakened this weekend's box office. Saying

"I don't think so. There's no question it concerns us if the press is writing about things other than the movie. If people are writing about his personal life, then by definition, they're not writing about the movie."




Just maybe we like our Action Heros to be mysterious and slightly dangerous - after this year how can you view Tom like that. Yes I know it's acting but come on can you imagine Steven Segal, Sylvester Stallone even Arnold Swarchenegger jumping up and down on Oprah's couch??
