It's American Idol Series 5 - there are 8 contestants left in and tonight they are doing the songs of Queen. I really hope there are some standout performances tonight as the last two weeks have been a bit weak. Probably because I didn't like the music they where doing (Barry Manilow and Country)!!

Singing - Fat Bottomed Girls

Well I think this is the best I have heard him sing, at least I can understand him tonight!!! Randy says nice way to start the show he liked it. Paula says great job. Simon says good choice of song for him - overall though it was mediocre.


Ace Young
Singing - We will rock you

He's not got the most powerfull voice but at least he's trying to do something else with the song not just copy it, it's not great though. Randy says it was about a 5 or 6 was just karaoke. Paula says she likes how he tried to mix it up in the middle. Simon says a complete and utter mess - it just didn't work he really really hated it!! whoa Simon say what you really think!!


Kellie Pickler
Singing - Bohemian Rhapsody

Oh god what a song to try and do. She's doing OK but I don't think anyone should do this song other than Freddy, it's just too big a song. Randy says she worked it out he was entertained. Paula says she showed her rocker chick side. Simon says shes a brave girl and that on paper it should have been hiddeous BUT it worked.


Chris Daughtry
Singing - Innuendo

I don't know this song at all - hmmmmm I don't really like this (and I really like Chris!!!). I think it's a bad song choice. Randy says he was expecting big things and he delivered. Paula says incredible (and a lot of other waffle that I can't be bothered to type). Simon says it's not a very good song, but it's the best vocal tonight so far. He should have picked a well known Queen song and really entertained the crowd, because that's what he is capable of, again the song choice was indulgent!


Have to say I agree with Simon, when we heard that they where going to sing Queen I thought Chris would knock the others out of the park, and be soooo good - but in the end he wasn't!!


Katharine McPhee
Singing- Who wants to live Forever

I like this, she is doing a good job (I think). Randy says it was a little pitchy - but she did a good job. Paula says glorious voice and she did a great job. Simon says that was almost THE moment - a little pitchy in places but probably one of the strongest tonight.


Elliott Yammin
Singing - Somebody to Love

He's doing OK but it's a very big song to sing - it's just OK - he sounds like he's running out of breath!! Randy says arguable one of the hardest songs to sing butall in all he loved it dude. Paula says best vocal. Simon says overall he pulled it off, but a hard song.



Taylor "The Silver Fox" Hicks

Singing - Crazy little thing called Love
It's Ok not brilliant but Ok. Randy says Taylor's back it was hot. Paula says it was refreshing and good but she dosen't know if he needs a recording contract or a straight jacket! Simon says are you drunk - and he thought it was ridiculous!!!


Paris Bennett

Singing - The Show must go on
You forget that she is only 17!! Totally comfortable on stage. Randy says rough in the middle but she worked it out in the end. Paula says keep on rocking. Simon found it all a little wierd!!!!


Ok it's a tough one tonight I think the best tonight was Katharine McPhee.


The Worst where Ace and Taylor and Bucky was a bit forgetable. I think the girlies will keep Ace in and I hope Taylor stays - so I am going to say that I think Bucky will go tomorrow.
