The American Idol final 12 get to perform all together for the first time tonight. It's a 2 hour Stevie Wonder night, so we get to see what they can do with someone else picking the style for them.


The contestants are on the stage - they look like some stylists have got hold of them at last!!


Paula says this 12 are the most talented from all the seasons. Simon says its going to be difficult cos they are all out of their comfort zones, and this either makes you or brakes you.


Ace Young is up first
Singing - do, I do

This suits him, cos he dosen't have the strongest vocals - i think - and the crowd seem to like it. Randy says it was just alright tonight cos he lost it a bit at the begining - he dosen't have the best vocals. Paula totally disagrees (Surprise) and that he entertained everyone. Simon says that luckily the audience are easily pleased and he agrees with Randy that the vocals where not the strongest and, that he has to do better than that.


Kellie Pickler
Singing - Blame it on the sun

She is very nervous cos she dosen't really do this genre of song. She is trying really hard and makeing a good effort of it (you can tell she's not comfortable). Randy says interesting song choice there wasn't any spark from her. Paula says you can tell she was nervous and it was a bit safe. Simon says everything went wrong - it was a bit boring - she looks like she had been 'Dolly Partonified' - old and boring, and it was her worst performance. I like her she is so natural and funny - says her new eyelashes, that the stylist have given her, are like tarantula's!!!


Elliott Yamin
Singing - knocks me off my feet

I don't like this song at all - he's singing it ok, it's just the song. Randy says he is in his comfort zone but this wasn't his best performance. Paula says a load of waffle - oh and he is an amazing singer. Simon says the best so far tonight but there wasn't a wow factor.


Mandisa
Singing - Don't you worry about a thing

Ryan is taking her shoes off cos her feet are hurting!! She is doing ok - but it's hard cos how can any of them sing a Stevie song better than Stevie??? Randy says this wasn't as good as last week but for him she is the best tonight so far. Paula says she can sing anything. Simon says NOW they have a competition - best so far.


Nobody has stood out yet for me and made me think WOW


Bucky Covington
Singing - Superstition

Stylist have certainly got hold of him!! I think I like this the best so far he's doing a good job and he dosen't sound like he's doing a Stevie Wonder impersonation - which is a good thing. Randy says it was the right choice for him and he enjoyed it. Paula says she enjoyed it too. Simon says he thought it was one of his best performances so far - but get rid of the Jessica Simpson Hairstyle!!


What are the stylist doing to these kids - they haven't done many of them any favours so far.


Melissa McGhee
Singing - Lately

I don't like this at all - she had some bum notes at the beginning. Randy says wow you forgot your lyrics! That she ended up strong but there where fome flat notes. Paula says you should wear dresses more often and she has a soothing voice. Simon says it was her best performance so far and it was very good and strong!!!! Hey what do I know!


Lisa Tucker
Singing - Signed, sealed and delivered

Well it's ok - but it's not doing a lot for me. Randy says the hardest part was at the end and it was hot. Paula says she can tell she was nervous. Simon says for him it was one of the best performances tonight and that she took control of the stage and he loved it.


Kevin Covais (chicken little)
Singing - Part time lover

I can't stop laughing - and not just at his singing - he looks about 12 and he really hasn't got any moves. Randy says he loves him, he wasn't expecting it to be good and in tune, and it was!! Paula says is was good even with the strange dance steps. Simon says Stevie just turned down the volume - and it was apalling. Kevin says he wasn't expecting anything from him anyway.


Katharine McPhee
Singing - Untill you come back to me

Ok I think this is good, she can really sing. Randy says she is off the chain (that's a Bahamian Saying for it's really good!!) and the bomb. Paula says her best performance. Simon says - Your Good, and vocally she is reminding him of Kellie Clarkson.


Taylor Hicks (The Silver Fox)
Singing - Living for the City

He is enjoying himself out there. Randy says it was a hot performance. Paula says everyone thinks he is a fun performer with so much passion. Simon says he is like every dad who has got up at a wedding got on stage and sang the difference is that Taylor can sing!!!


Paris Bennett
Singing - All I do

Well there's no doubt she can sing, I don't know the song though - Randy says she was unbelivable tonight. Paula says she looks like she has been doing this for years. Simon says it's like 2 competitions tonight, 1st half ok and the 2nd half great.


Chris Daughtry
Singing - Higher Ground

Yep I really like this - a lot. Randy says he loves that every week he figures out a way to make the songs his own. Paula says she enjoys it every week. Simon says Thank God for Chris - this was the only real world performance and he can see him having a hit with the song. Best tonight by a mile!!!


So for me the Weakest tonight where Ace, Kevin, Melissa and Kellie - but I don't think they will vote Ace, Kellie or Kevin off so I think Melissa will go (I know, I know same as last week - but I have to be right one week cos she wont be the AI!!).


The Best tonight by a mile was Chris Daughtry.
