Laurence Fishburne's Woes

Laurence Fishburne is being taken to court, E! Online reports.

His former assistant, Ms. Crews, is claiming that she was sacked because she became pregnant. According to Crews when she informed Fishburne in June 2004 that she was expecting, to which she claims Fishburne replied that he didn't believe in women having children on their own, and suggested that "there where consequences to her decision to have the baby without consulting him".

The complaint was immediately and emphatically refuted by Fishburne's attorney Lawrence Gartner, who said "we categorically deny these allegations by Ms. Crews and we are confident that Mr Fishburne will be vindicated in these proceedings".

Fishburne is currently filming 'The Death and Life of Bobby Z', and will go on to star opposite Tom Cruise in the upcoming 'Mission Impossible 3' due out in May.
