Here we go again. The Second City to audition for American Idol Series 5 is Denver. Let's see what they have to offer.


Marlows Davis Jnr. is first up today who is excited and thinks he's like Usher, well we'll see - nope definitely not like Usher - he's out. Tiffany Christiansen next what the #%$* is that, she's out. Olivia Dudley out, David Horning out. Phew their dropping like flies.
16 year old Lisa Tucker is next: Yes she can sing, she has actually got past the first line in the song! Simon says she is the best 16 yr old they have ever had on the competiton (she is a bit good)!. She's going to Hollywood, no problem.


The contestants are going on about all Simons "Potty Breaks" - maybe he just needs a break from their 'singing'. Amanda Berg, wants to be Witney Houston - NO WAY! She's out. Ace Young is up he's a bit 'boy band' - not my thing. What do the judges think? Randy likes him, Paula likes him, Simon says yes with a small 'y' - he's through to Hollywood. Rochelle Dye is next and really needs this, saying she has nowhere else to go. She can sing and she has got Randy bopping in his chair; Simon says "Great - can't fault that". The Judges say 100% yes to her.


Here come The Rockers - oh God, some of them are really bad. Not a patch on Bo or Constantine. Naomi Guise up, she's really bad and sheeeees gone. Chris Daughtree (I think) is up and was inspired by Bo last year. Lets see if he can sing - yes he can. The judges say they saw talent but heard nerves. Simon's a no, Randy's a yes, Paula's a yes - he's through. His wife is really, really happy cos she thinks he gave up his dream to marry her and take on her two kids. So lets see how far his dream can go.


Heather Cox is through. Angela Garcia sings 'Rush Rush' by Paula and is out, even with Simon saying it was better than the original (ha ha ha). Erik Mena next - the judges look stunned and Simon sends him packing. Next up 'Cowboy' Garret Johnson who is a real 3rd generation cowboy, and who normally sings to a Turkey because he lives in a town of 4 people! (you couldn't make this up if you tried). He is so scared as this is the 1st time he has sang in front of humans. Ok. Paula says he's not ready for the competition but Simon says yes and Randy says yes. He's through to Hollywood but Simon says get some lessons, I think Simon really wanted to help him and let him through (who says he's mean and nasty).


19 contestants go through on day 1.


Day 2

'Flawless' is next and just looks 'bad' and not in a good way. His singing is even worse, he's out. Ben Hausbach is pushing his "cosmic coasters" - his singing is bad, but at least he got TV time for his invention - and he's gone. Are these people real? If so that's really, really, scary.


The Judges are looking really fed up they need someone to give them a lift. Will April Walsh do it? She sings Bjork's 'hush hush' (with all the actions). Simon says no, Paula says Yes, Randy says Yes. So I guess she did. More and more girls go through but not so many guys. Zachary Travis next who looks like a girl but is a guy - Randy looks confused. Simon is very confused and Paula says he's not up to standard for the competition! They all say No.


18 through on Day 2 - making 37 in total.
