Yeah! American Idol is back.


Now I have to confess, I LOVE American Idol so I will be posting weekly on this topic. Sorry if you don't like it but hey, its my blog.


All the gang are back Randy, Simon, Paula and Ryan and I can't wait to see all the fights, tears and happiness that's going to happen over the next few weeks. Oh, and the contestants singing!

Ok so here we go Week 1 Chicago lets see what you have to offer.


Over 10,000 people turned up and braved the wind and rain. Derek Dupree was the first one to audition and - Oh God I wish he hadn't. But guess what: He's got one more hour to get a new song. Next Katrina Yaukey has some serious boots going on that Paula wants - shes not going to qualify though. Justin Stich is up - Simon blasts him down, he's going home. We are 3 for 0, the judges already look fed up let's hope it improves.


The Brittnum twins are up. They sing, they harmonize well together, they sing nice apart as well - they make it! The first ones of the day. Gina Glocksen is up (who has a crush on Simon!). Yes! She's through. Mandisa Hundley has a brilliant voice and is through.


Kevin Brenneman is next and I was not expecting that voice to come out of him. Simon says he reminds him of a Wasp; Paula says he should work on Rugrats - he's not through. Charles Berry is back again and yet again does not make it - Simon says he should be a female impersonator!!

Amanda Rabideau is next and according to Simon she's horrible - she's not going through. The police is next in the form of Brandon Groves and hes bad - Lock him up quick.


What's funny is that these people actually think they can sing, they are convinced of it. Oh my God, can't they hear themselves!!!


17 year old Christine Davies is next and she's in her prom dress - do the judges like her? Nope they don't she's not through. OK the statue of Liberty just walked in. Simon sends him packing. Derek Dupree is trying to find his voice in the street. Has it worked? Nope he's hit the pavement.
Erick Lawn is next. Hope the judges like him, his Gran is ready to do damage to anyone who hurts her grandson - Simon beware!!

Ooops call an ambulance, Simons going to need it - he's not going through. Ok his gran has confronted Simon - Simon takes her on and wins, of course.


The Barrettsmith sisters are up next and they can sing. Do the judges like them? Simon doesn't; Randy does and Paula sends them to Hollywood, they made it.
Yvette Gomez next and I don't like it (but what do I know) - the judges agree with me she's not through.

Zachary Smit's next, nice voice shame about the hair. What do the judges think? Paula's a yes, Randy's a yes Simon says OK.
Jessica Nelson next. They really don't like her - and she really doesn't like them now!!!


OOOH! Now the contestants are getting really catty with each other, and having 'sing off's' in the holding area.


19 contestants got through day one.


Day 2

David Radford is first up today and he's a crooner. Paula's smiling, he's through. My God, a poor mans 'Paris Hilton' has just walked in, Crystal Parizanski. The judges are speechless at her tan - it's a no.


Stuart B(sorry missed the surname) is next he has a very wierd hat, it's nope. Yulia Matus is next and she needs a yes to get a three year performance visa or go back to the Ukraine, guess she needs a plane ticket cos she's not going through.


More twins, The Simmons twins this time - they are serenading Paula and shes loving it, but what do Randy and Simon think? Randy likes them, Simon says they're good. They are through.


Then in came Dave Hoover - he doesn't wear shoes, he talks to animals, he's full of energy but can he sing? Nope but he's through, Simon looks amazed and says the other two are insane.


15 go through day 2 that makes 34 in total.


That's it for Chicago. What a start.....
