Charlize Theron is due to produce and star in the upcoming film The Ice at the bottom of the World. Its is about a heroin addict who returns home to her dysfunctional family with a mixed raced child.
Alicia Keys is going to star in a coming-of-age drama series about a girl from a biracial family. The series is loosly based on her life and is shooting for a CBS slot in their fall schedule.
Julia Roberts, who has been playing mommy for the last year, has signed to star opposite Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilsons War. Roberts will play Texas socialite Joanne Herring who encorages Charlie Wilson (Hanks) to help fund the Afghan Rebels in their fight against the Soviet Union. Filming starts later this year.
Lil' Kim can soon be seen on BET (although she is locked up). She did a reality show Lil'Kim:Countdown to Lockdown, documenting her last two weeks of freedom before starting her year in prison.
